Ice T is an American rapper, songwriter, musician, record producer, record executive, and author. In the 1980s he has started his music career as an underground rapper, and in 1987 he had signed a contract with Sire Records. He released his debut music album with the title of Rhyme Pays. This album was a hip-hop album to carry an explicit content sticker.

This album was the second album which contains this kind of material before than Slick Rick’s La Di Da Di was the same content. In the very next year, he has formed the record label Rhyme $yndicate Records, and he released another music album under the label of this record. The music album name was Power.

He co-founded the band Body Count and his 1991s music album O.G.: Original Gangster released under the shadow of this label. One of the tracks titled “Body Count” had declared as one of the best tracks. In 1992 the band released their self-titled debut album.

Ice-T was born as Tracy Lauren Marrow on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey. His father name was Solomon, who is an African-American. By profession, he worked as a conveyor belt mechanic at the Rapistan Conveyor Company and Alice Marrow, a Creole.

His birth name was Tracy Lauren Marrow, but he got fame through his stage name Ice-T. He had meet with racial discrimination as a child, but runaway it due to his lighter skin innate from his Creole mother. At that time he was just 12 years old when his parents died. So, after the death of his parents, he started living in the house of one of his aunts’ family in View Park-Windsor Hills, near Los Angeles.

In 1983, he chose the name Ice-T as his stage name in honor of Iceberg Slim. In the same year, he has recorded a rap titled The Coldest Rap, over a funky Jimmy Jam-Terry Lewis. This album was released in under the independent label Saturn.
