Lamar Odom was born on 6th November 1979 in New York, US. His childhood was not that much good so he helped himself and played basketball to forget. He was named in the Magazine named Parade when he was in high school he won the player of the year that year. Lamar was later on selected for the NBA so that his year of college were drafted as the freshman. In that time Los Angeles Clippers were struggling in basketball so they selected him. He was born on 6th November 1979 to a disable and addicted veteran father. His mother Cathy Mercer was the traffic officer and love him a lot. She wants her son to be a successful guy and stay away from the dangerous streets where they live. Lamar Started playing basketball when he was just 7 years old. Odom played a lot to become good in the game he loves. He was much closer to his mother but his mother died when he was just 12 years old due to colon cancer.
Odom was sent to live with his grandmother Mildred Mercer who told him to focus on studies instead of playing basketball. He then starts studying and in the high school, he got international attention. The name of the school was King High School and also Redemption Christian Academy, Troy. He played in New Britain St. Thomas Aquinas High School these were his senior years. He also got the fame with the name of “Player of the year” by the Parade Magazine. On the other hand got the fame as USA Today’s All-USA first team.
He was enrolled for the summer classes in the University of Nevada which are in Los Angeles. University transferred him when he’s playing high score ACT were questioned. Odom then went to the University of Rhode Island. He didn’t allow to play for a year. Lamar declared his eligibility in NBA in 1999 after one year. He was also selected by the Los Angeles Clippers because they were struggling in that time. Lamar was the 4th overall pick there.

He was then sent to the team of Dallas Mavericks at the end of 2011. Odom was not happy with this deal and soon he got separation from that team and go back to the Los Angeles Clipper and became the part of a four-team deal.
Odom Signed with Laboral Kutxa who is a professional basketball team of Spain in February 2014. But he got the back injury and for this reason, he came back to the US again. He joined the team of New York Knicks in April, he was dropped by the team in July. He never came back as the player of NBA championship again.
