Ice T Introduction:
Ice T is an American rapper, songwriter, musician, record producer, record executive, and author. In the 1980s he has started his music career as an underground rapper, and in 1987 he had signed a contract with Sire Records. He released his debut music album with the title of Rhyme Pays. This album was a hip-hop album to carry an explicit content sticker.
This album was the second album which contains this kind of material before than Slick Rick’s La Di Da Di was the same content. In 1994 he released his next album with his band and also in the late-1990s Ice-T released two more albums. From 2000, he is working in the NBC police drama titled Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In this drama, he portrayed the role of NYPD Sergeant or Detective named Odafin Tutuola.
Childhood & Early Life of Ice T:
Ice-T was born as Tracy Lauren Marrow on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey. His father name was Solomon, who is an African-American. By profession, he worked as a conveyor belt mechanic at the Rapistan Conveyor Company and Alice Marrow, a Creole.
His birth name was Tracy Lauren Marrow, but he got fame through his stage name Ice-T. He had meet with racial discrimination as a child, but runaway it due to his lighter skin innate from his Creole mother. At that time he was just 12 years old when his parents died. So, after the death of his parents, he started living in the house of one of his aunts’ family in View Park-Windsor Hills, near Los Angeles.
In this house, he shared a room with his cousin Earl. Earl was a huge fan of heavy metal music and also later some time became the part of the group. He completes his elementary education from Palms Junior High. After completing his elementary school, he got admission to the Crenshaw High School.
When he was in the high school, gangs started to make stronger relations in the Los Angeles school system and students relate to the ‘Crips’ and ‘Bloods’ gangs enrolled to the Crenshaw high school.
In this school both the gangs fought. And also after that, he left the gang ‘Bloods’ and ‘Crips’ and never a member of the gang. Ice-T read Iceberg Slim’s novels, recited stories and read ghetto writer to his friends.
Tracy Lauren Marrow Professional Career:
When he was the member of gangs, he got finance through stolen car stereos and from selling cannabis. But when he became the father of a girl he faced many difficulties to fulfill his family desire. So, according to his lake of finances, he joined USA Army in 1979.
He served his country as a soldier for four years. In 1983, he returned to South Central with the future aim of becoming a hip-hop musician. But his life got caught up in street crime as a pimp and jewel thief.
In 1983, he chose the name Ice-T as his stage name in honor of Iceberg Slim. In the same year, he has recorded a rap titled The Coldest Rap, over a funky Jimmy Jam-Terry Lewis. This album was released in under the independent label Saturn.

In 1985, he had injured in a car accident and had admitted to the hospital. After recovering from this accident, he was very much excited to continue his profession in the field of rap music. He participated in a show judged by Kurtis Blow, and he won an open mic competition.
In between 1996 to 1999, he released some of the music albums such as Gangsta Rap, The Seventh Deadly Sin and VI – Return of the Real. All of these music albums were failed to gain popularity, but in all of them, he has done his work extraordinarily.
From 2000, he was the member of the NBC police drama titled Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and in this drama he has appeared as the fictional NYPD Detective Odafin Tutuola. Till date, this series has released its 15 seasons and also 304 episodes.
